  • What does a consultancy involve?
It includes assistance with the selection, layout and placement for a particular space by employing our team's ability to edit, distill and find procurement sources. We also offer project management services, however they are not mutually exclusive. Anything selected in the form of furniture, fixtures, or finishings (wallpaper, rugs, bespoke manufacturing, etc).
  • Does consultancy include implementation of the vision?
We provide project management services for a separate fee, but it is not mandatory. From an interior decorator's role, we provide mood-boards, technical configurations, design and AutoCAD layouts, and market research where we connect clients with vendors/suppliers/stores that directly provide what was finalized in our collaborative plan. In a project management role, we provide all of the above as well as the implementation and actualization of the plan. There is a separate fee charged for managing the project which is also a percentage of the total cost of the project.
  • Will a consultancy only provide Aurum products?
No. Our design philosophy rests on Aurum being an accent based line where our work applies best when enhancing a well-curated space that reflects your individual taste.
  • What is the standard consultancy fee?
We have a set percentage applicable to the estimated amount of the entire project. Kindly contact our concierge for more details and cost breakdowns.
  • Modular vs Bespoke Design
Modular design involves pairing various components from our existing offerings (materials, hardware, sculptures, techniques, finishes, design elements, etc). Bespoke design involves creating the design you finalised from scratch. The primary difference between both lies in the avaiability of existing components in the Modular approach where delivery is simpler and quicker as the final piece only requires assembly of components. The Bespoke approach however, includes a configuration and sampling process of a new component prior to any assembly. This could require more time where extra charges may apply for costs incurred.
  • Is there a fee for orders based on modular design?
No. We do not charge you extra for modular pieces where you may create your own final piece by selecting from our existing components and designs and tweaking minor changes to suit your preference.
  • Anatomy of Bespoke Design
    1. Conceptual meeting In this meeting the client provides our team with their required concept and references. Once the team decides the feasibility of the request, we take 5-10 working days to define the scope of the work. 2. Mood boards The concept mood boards will offer different options for the structure, base, surface and finish materials. We provide various options and pairings to give the client a more holistic idea of how we can complete the task as well as enhance their vision with our expertise. 3. Estimate Costing An estimated cost will be made of the preliminary design concept as selected via mood board, and a percentage retainer fee will be paid to continue with the process. If the order halts at any point, the retainer is non-refundable. When the order is completed, the retained amount goes towards the final payment. The retainer above includes a fraction of the costs associated with the final design (raw materials, intellectual property, labor, transportation, utilities), but excludes a potential prototype. 4. Finalize: Research, Experiment, Prototype Finalize Design: Based on the mood board feedback, graphic visuals are rendered to show the final product as close to reality. Once our team has received approval, sampling begins. Sampling: Raw materials are collected by the purchasing department to secure their availability. If we are working on a new concept that requires mechanization, we will put it to the test, and if we require any changes based upon failed assumptions – this is when we would discuss any alterations to the final product. This step requires the most work as the graphics department creates detailed renderings from scratch; the purchasing department lines up the availability of all required raw materials or vendors for minor outsourcing; the configuration team will work out all the appropriate measurements, weights, and feasibilities of the agreed upon design which may involve sampling by the production department to create a prototype. Prototyping: Involves putting to the test the configurations calculated and agreed upon based on the design and details selected, if need be. This involves a small-scale production of the design’s most challenging aspects to ensure its eventual feasibility on an aesthetic and functional level. If any changes are required based on the findings from the experimentation/prototyping, costings will be adjusted accordingly. The client is a part of every step and stage of a bespoke piece, where they are provided details and approval is sought to move forward.
